Well.. When I was a kid, probably around 8-10 years of age. My parents notice my interest in robots; they bought me a clear char custom Zaku warrior. Can't remember if that was a MG kit or not, it is at least a 1/100 scale. I was pretty excited about it, but when I saw the amount of runners it had I totally lost interest in it! LOL. Yeah I was impatient; I wanted something I could build quickly to play with. Therefore that Zaku was left unbuild and lost. =x
For a kid my age (at that time), the best kind of model kits would be BB/SD kits! They were easy to build, had lots of gimmicks and had very cool box art. After I built my first BB kit I was quite disappointed for they look rather ugly compared to the box art! LOL. Still it was fast and fun entertainment.
Come to think of it. Stop complaining about BB kits lacking articulation guys, because BB kits are not about articulation. It’s always and has always been about the gimmicks. If you're seeking highly articulated kit you should go for HG, MG and PG model kits instead. BB Sangokuden is a luxury. For a BB kit to have a minimum of 12 points of articulation is really great. In the past, the BB kits I had only have around 5-7 points of articulation, still I was satisfied because they were fun.
My conclusion is all BB Sangokuden kits are worth every penny. We buy BB kits for its gimmicks and awesome looks, not how well they can move. In fact basic movements like swinging the arms up and down, turning the head, twitching the legs are already sufficient! The other points of articulations are quite redundant.
The End.
Have Fun and enjoy your day! =)
